Tweeddale Peace Group was formed in 1983 to raise awareness of Peace and Justice causes and, by holding an annual second hand book sale, to raise funds for them.
Since then, we have campaigned, held public meetings and vigils, written to the press and to our MP and MSPs and worked with CND (Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament), CAAT (Campaign Against the Arms Trade)Â and the Edinburgh Peace and Justice Centre to engage local people. Think global, act local.
In the early days, a newsletter was printed and distributed; now we circulate a monthly mailing.
The group offers a home to people who are concerned about the fragile state of the world, who want to connect with kindred spirits and who seek to engage with peace and justice causes.
